Grammania 2016 News Story

Lahore: The BDC team completely dominated the competition and the Prize Distribution Ceremony at Grammania 2016 that took place from November 25 to 27, 2016.

The competition started with a team event called ‘Planet of Numbers’ with Danyal Maqbool, Danyal Zafar, Ahsan Rasool and Muhammad Ali Siddique participating. Following them were the BDC girls’ team, Namrah Shumail, Momna Iqbal, Syeda Jaweria Shadman and Syeda Zeenat Ali, who were the runners up in the same event.

In the ‘Bilingual Declamation’, the BDC team stood first in the contest. Zoha Tahir, the English speaker stood first while Ashar Kamal, the Urdu speaker stood second.

The BDC photography team comprising of Namrah Shumail and Aumaima Irfan stood first in the competition.

In the ‘Chronicles of Diction’, BDC’s team consisting of Shahmeer Ali, Danyal Maqbool and Zoha Tahir stood first overall.

Our participant Shahmeer Ali won the first position in the Poetry Slam.

In addition, ‘Athletico’ was the most successful event of Grammania and BDC again proved its superiority by winning medals in various activities. The BDC team won silver medals in the ‘Tug of War’. The team comprised of Huzaifa Nauman, Talha Khaliq, Sheryar Nadeem, Abdul Munim, Saboor Virk, Shahmeer Ali, Suleman Arif Paracha and Ashar Kamal.

Danyal Zafar of Class XI-Gold won the gold medal in the chess tournament.

Moreover, the BDC badminton doubles team also won silver medals in the event. The winners were Abdullah Saigal and Awais Nasir and this strong team also won the gold medal in the table tennis doubles.

Abdullah Saigal has to be appreciated again for winning a gold medal in table tennis singles which laid the foundations for the rest. Abdullah was also declared to be the best delegate of Grammania 2016. He won the maximum number of medals amongst all delegates.

The biggest achievement and the proudest moment for Beaconhouse Defence Campus was winning the Best Delegation Award. Our team won every event we participated in!
