BMI shines at CARMA News Story

Beaconhouse Regional Office North

Islamabad: The Convention for Aspiring Reporters and Media Anchors (CARMA), the country’s largest journalism event, was held recently at LUMS. The teams from Beaconhouse Margalla Campus (BMI) had the honour of winning the best delegation award along with bagging the gold in three categories — Print Pandemonium (magazine design and compilation), Voicebox (radio show hosting), and the Investigative Journalism Event.

The BMI delegation, consisting of four teams, was the underdog in the eighth edition of Pakistan’s premier journalism event, as it was up against some significant and highly experienced heavyweights, including the likes of KGS and journalism majors from Iqra University, amongst others. However, they overcame the seemingly insurmountable odds and managed to pull off an astonishing victory at the close of the event.

This three-day event was packed with a diverse selection of journalistic activities, including photojournalism, investigative journalism and TV show hosting. It proved to be a highly rewarding event, both in terms of competitive value and as an educational opportunity.
