Healthy Food Week News Story

Karachi: Healthy Food Day was celebrated at Beaconhouse Steel Town Branch in the last week of April, 2017, with the Early Years students, to promote healthy eating habits. Students wore fruit-themed headbands. They performed on different songs related to healthy food and presented small skits. Mothers were also invited to become part of the different activities.

Students of Kindergarten celebrated Healthy Food Week from April 24 to 28, 2017. Mothers were invited to take part in classroom activities. They brought lunch according to the given menu card.

On Monday, May 24, 2017, students were introduced to the new co-reader “I Do Not Eat the Color Green”, which relates to healthy green food and students celebrated it as a Cucumber Day.

On Thursday, May 27, 2017, students enjoyed making creative art work with their mothers and talked about the benefits of bananas and watermelon.

On Friday, May 28, 2017, students celebrated a “Fun with Fruits” activity, related to the unit “Extraordinary Nature” and the topic was fruits and vegetables. Students were told about the importance of fruits and vegetables for a healthy life. They helped their mothers to make fruit chaat and enjoyed eating the fruit chaat with their mothers. The mothers were very appreciative of this activity and were happy to see their children eating fruits.
