Global Dignity Day 2017 News Story

Global Dignity Day 2017 Report Global Dignity Day 2017 was celebrated by teachers ,parents and students of Beaconhouse Sri Petaling with enthusiasm on October 20, 2017. Beaconhouse Sri Petaling focused on the theme, Tolerance , Non-violence and Love.   A permanent Dignity Wall is set up at the school foyer highlighting values and the concept of Global Dignity. Children’s awareness notes and drawings regarding the values of dignity and the theme were displayed on the wall. We organised special GDD assemblies during which teachers shared information about the values of dignity through stories and songs with children .  We also invited guest speaker, Ms Maggie Oh of CAC Children’s Home, to talk about “ Who is your neighbour ?” and how communities may involve in making a tolerant , non-violent society . The event helped a great deal in teaching students the importance of dignity in our daily lives and how we can help the underprivileged. There was also a song presentation titled “ God loves you and me” by three students. Beaconhouse Sri Petaling also engaged in a charity drive by encouraging staff, parents and children in donating books, food and other stuff to help the underprivileged children in CAC Children’s Home. We ended the GDD session by handing all the collection of books and food to Ms OH .
