Beaconhouse Pre-School, Subang News Story

Global Dignity Day, October 18 2017, marks a global demonstration of the inspirational and inclusive power of dignity. We use this day of global observance to promote tolerance and non-violence through artwork, storytelling, song and making a commitment to encourage tolerance and non-violence. Education and awareness are essential to the promotion of international peace. As Gandhi has said, "Non-violence is the greatest force at the disposal of mankind. It is mightier than the mightiest weapon of destruction devised by the ingenuity of man".

The Objectives

Bringing awareness to pre-school children the ethic of human dignity in today’s world. We bring forward the concept of morality, values of human dignity and non-violence. Also, tolerance which demand respect of each person.

Discussion

Tolerance means willingness to accept behaviour and beliefs that are different from our own. Although, we might not agree with them, it is a quality of allowing other people to say and do as they like.

Non-violence is often linked with peace as an essential method of human interaction. This term is the practice of being harmless to self and others, under every condition. It also includes not hurting people, animals or the environment.

Activities Art and craft on hot air balloon with ‘love’ shape flowing in the air, which is displayed on the school’s dignity theme board. By doing this craft, we educated children to send love to the globalised world.
