Lahore: ‘Bazm-e-Sukhan’ was organised by the O Level Urdu department on November 9, 2017 to celebrate the birth of our national poet Allama Muhammad Iqbal and to promote the Urdu language. The programme commenced with an ‘Ibtadaya’ by Eisha Zahid from Class XIC-A. During the programme, students delivered speeches, sang songs, recited poems and competed in Bait Bazi. Plays performed by Classes IXC-B, IXC-D and XC-A, based on famous Urdu dramas, were warmly received by the audience. Chief Guest Mr Khalid Sharif, one of the leading Urdu poets of Pakistan with seven books of poetry to his credit, gave a closing speech appreciating the teachers and students for their effort in promoting Urdu and making the programme a great success.
