The World Scholar’s Cup (WSC) 2018 News Story

Karachi: BSS Gulshan Middle II takes immense pleasure in revealing the results of the World Scholar’s Cup, Karachi Round 2018. A total of 52 medals, ranging from gold to silver, in different categories and subject areas were won by our students. The faces of these enthused champions, beaming with joy, were a sight to behold and an inspiration for all.

The World Scholar’s Cup (WSC) was a two-day event, comprising of collaborative writing to team debates, was surely an enthralling experience for our young talented scholars.

We are also proud to announce that all four teams from Gulshan Middle II have qualified for the Global Round 2018 which will take place in Barcelona, Kuala Lumpur or Melbourne. The Global Round will be followed by the Final Round in Yale University, USA.

Following are the names of our champions and the laurels they have brought to the school.

1. Kaniaat Imran – One of the Top Scholars of WSC, bagging a total of 7 medals, comprising of 3 gold and 4 silver.
2. Arhum Ahmed – Selected as one the seven Debate Panellists to judge the Debate Showcase, and also bagging a total of 7 medals, comprising of 2 gold and 5 silver.
3. Mariyam Hashmi – Best Karachi Scholar of WSC, achieving 5th position in Collaborative Writing, bagging a total of 6 medals, comprising of 2 gold and 4 silver.
4. Aleena Akheel – 3rd position in all subjects (special areas), bagging a total of 6 medals, comprising of 1 gold and 5 silver.
5. Laiba Fouzan – Bagging a total of 6 medals, comprising of 4 gold and 2 silver. One of the gold medals was secured by Laiba for the Individual Debates at WSC.
6. Muhammad Ibrahim – Bagging 6 silver medals.
7. M. Shah Khan Lodhi – Bagging a total of 5 medals, comprising of 4 gold and 1silver.
8. Hammad Shahzad – Bagging a total of 4 medals, comprising of 3 gold and 1 silver.
9. Maarij Moid – Bagging 4 silver medals. One of the silver medal was secured by Laiba for the Individual Team Debate.
10. Zain Ayub – Bagged 3 silver medals. One of the silver medals was secured by Zain in Collaborative Writing.
11. Laiba Raheel – Bagged 2 silver medals.
12. Shumaila Sajid – Bagged 1 silver medal.
