Visit to the Happy Home Institute News Story

Lahore: Beaconhouse A Level students recently visited the Happy Home Institute. Happy Home is a private welfare organisation that provides shelter, food and clothing to senior citizens who are in search of a place to live with dignity. The students and administration collected donations, bought supplies and visited the senior citizen residents to spend time with them and deliver care packages. The students, accompanied by our music teacher Mr Faisal Bobby, sang litanies that emphasised the charitable and selfless qualities that the month of Ramadan elicited. The A Level Senior Mistress Ms Najia Raheem, as well as the A level Academic Coordinator Ms Salma Raza, spoke to the Director of the Institute and received an insight into the admirable work that the institute is doing for its residents. The students left Happy Home with a broader understanding of some of the challenges that senior citizens face and how important it is for younger people to create inclusive social environments for senior citizens. We are immensely proud of our students for displaying the sort of heightened empathy that can truly make an impact on the world.
