Hyderabad: At Beaconhouse Latifabad Primary Branch I, no day big or small goes unnoticed. With this motto, Beaconites paid tribute to Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai on his 276th URS on October 17, 2019. Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai was a Sindhi Sufi scholar, mystic, saint, and poet; widely considered to be the greatest Muslim poet of the Sindhi language. His collected poems were assembled in the compilation Shah Jo Risalo (The Message of Shah), which exists in numerous versions and has been translated into English, Urdu, and many other languages. His Urs is held every year on the 14th Safar of the Hijri Calendar. The students left the audience in awe through their portrayal of Shah Bhitai’s poetry that included his famous characters, the Seven Queens.
