Lahore: Walton Campus participated in the Urdu Week event organised by Beaconhouse Model Town Campus, ‘Deewan e Urdu’. The first virtual activity organised by the campus on 11th November 2020 was poetry recitation ‘Dil say Nazam Tak’. Both our students who participated in the competition won positions. Momina Nasir of IV White won 1st prize for her recitation of Faiz Ahmed Faiz’s poem ‘Hum dekhain gay’, and Zainab Sohail of IV Gold won the 3rd prize on reciting verses from ‘Shikwa- jawab e shikwa’. Beaconhouse Walton Campus was awarded the best school out of the 25 participating campuses from Central Region.

Our students from grade III participated in the second activity of the same event on 12th November 2020. Fatima Farrukh of III Violet won the 2nd position, and Basit Ahmed from 3 Red won the consolation prize in the Live Virtual Story Telling Competition among 11 different campuses.

Arsh Yousuf of V Silver won 3rd position out of 15 participants of several campuses in the Virtual Naat Recitation Competition held at Allama Iqbal Town Campus, Lahore on 13th November 2020.

Among our in-house activities, our students participated enthusiastically in the online debates programme which was also organised for the Urdu Week activities to commemorate our national poet Allama Iqbal on 13th November 2020. Seventeen students from 9 different sections of grade V expressed their views on the topic, “Umar daraz maang kar laey thay chaar din, do online may cut gaey - do face to face may”. Students spoke on the topic and kept their viewers mesmerised. The decision was a tough one but was very well announced by the honourable judges Mr Waris Iqbal and Ms Noor us Sabah Baqar.
