Lahore: One needs to learn how to play with words and use them effectively. BSS has always been on the forefront to teach their young ones about public speaking and this is done from a very young age. The Intersection English Declamation Contest for the Upper Primary Level for Grades 3, 4 & 5 was held and the students from each level had their audience captivated and mesmerized for the time each and every speaker was at the rostrum.

Grade 3 students spoke on the topic ‘Be a Techno Smart and not a Techno Addict.’
Grade 4 students convinced their audience on the topic ‘Fight for your planet not only for your country.’
Grade 5 spoke on the Hadith ‘A Muslim is one from whose Tongue and Hand other Muslims are safe.’

Our students were not just confident and well-timed but were very sure about convincing the audience and the judges on their point of view. Our young debaters gave a tough time to our judges in finalising the positions, the marks criteria made it easier and each level ended up with multiple students at every position. We had a tie between two students from grade III for the 1st Position and three students from grade IV. Grade V was a tough call since all the students were very talented and is at a higher grade level knew how to present their point of view to convince their audience. The judges awarded two students the 1st position and there was a tie between three students at all the other positions.

It was a pleasure to have Ms. Ayesha Javed from BMTL and Ms. Amna Sharjeel from BDC as judges to judge our grade V students competition. They were full of praise and appreciation for our students, their confidence and at how well prepared they were. Well done students - keep up the hard work!!

“You can speak well if your tongue can deliver the message of your heart,” said John Ford and it's definitely not an easy thing to deliver the message of your heart choosing the correct words.
