Lahore: In a bid to support the frontline workers battling against the COVID-19 pandemic in Pakistan, the students of Beaconhouse Walton Campus Lahore (BWC-L) have released a video song on Tuesday, April 21, 2020, to pay a heartfelt tribute to the unsung heroes.

Knowing the troubles and challenges faced by frontline fighters, students of BWC-L kept a safe social distance from one another and gathered online to sing the melodious tune of legendary Mehdi Hassan’s “Ye Watan Tumhara Hai”. Singing and swaying to the song, the students of BWC-L paid homage to the healthcare workers, first responders, law enforcement agencies, and charitable organisations like Mahmud Kasuri (MAK) Welfare Trust for their outstanding work during this crisis.

Ever since Pakistan has reported its first COVID-19 case, the frontline personnel have been working tirelessly to stem the virus. Thus far, the deadly contagion has infected over 9,000 individuals and claimed the lives of 192 people, including two medics. All the frontline fighters are diligently performing their duties even though not all of them have received the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as masks, uniforms, and other protective gear. Yet, they are risking their health and potentially their lives to save patients from the novel coronavirus.
